As we gather with family and friends and enjoy the time we have with our loved ones, let us give a thought this year to those who do not have the blessings we have. Let us pray about the people who are in places far away from their families on this night, let them be safe and let them come home soon. Let us also pray about those who work on this night that they may be safe. Let us remember those who do not have loved ones to share this Christmas with and those for whom Christmas is just another day. We pray for those who struggle and try as they may to bring joy to their families on this day. Let us remember those who have been forgotten, for it is with them that the Christ Child shines his light brightly to give them hope and comfort. As we spend this time together, let us be truly thankful for all that we have. Let us remember that on this day, so long ago a child was born, and it was to poor shepherds that angels came, to let the world know the king was born. This Christmas Eve at our 9:00 pm service, we would like to light a candle for you. How can we pray for you today?
