LIFE IS A JOURNEY...EMBRACE IT...LIVE IT...MAKE IT MEMORABLE
Mentoring
Even the best of marriages, at times need encouragement or affirmation that their relationship is strong and growing. They need the fellowship of other couples who, like they, have a marriage that is grounded and growing in love. Marriage mentoring gives couples like these the chance to meet others while building their relationships.
Mentoring can also be a place where couples who have not been married before can learn more about married life, what it takes to build a strong relationship, and see that theirs can grow over the course of time.
Mentoring can also be a place where couples who have been married for a time, and their relationship is strong, but can use a little encouragement to help it grow more.
So, what is mentoring?
Mentoring is a couple whose marriages are strong and are continually growing as they work together on their relationship with each other. It is couples who over time, have found ways that makes their marriage work and have a desire to share with others, the love, understanding, and respect they have learned with each other.
Please note: mentoring is nor counseling, if your marriage or relationship is in crisis you should look for a qualified professional for assistance.
We offer three mentoring programs, The Art of Marriage series by FamilyLIFE, Marriage Mentoring Academy, as well as our Life’s Journey: Your Path Together Program. We are a non-denominational ministry that offer both religious and non-religious mentoring to meet your needs as you work together in marriage.
Pre-marriage mentoring: Before You Tie the Knot
The best way to build a marriage it to understand what marriage is first. Our pre-marriage mentoring course is a six-week study where we cover the following topics
Week one – The Art of Marriage / Building a Marriage to Last
Week two – Building Up Your Spouse / Building Teamwork In Your Marriage
Week three – Building Communications in Your Marriage / Financial Responsibility
Week four – Love, Respect and Intimate Relationship / Growing Together In Christ
Week five – Fair Fighting
Week six – Before the Last Resort
Each week, we meet for about an hour and we will talk about the topics and answer questions from our own experiences. For these topics listed we will provide a list of materials you will need to work through each mentoring session, as well as the best resources to purchase the materials. You can choose to take the entire mentoring session or cover the topics you believe apply to you.
Does your marriage need some refreshing?
Even some of the best marriages need refreshing. We need to take a step back and remember what brought us together and how we can use that to continue to grow together. As we grow older, we may at times need to reflect, learn and practice life’s lessons so that our marriages will continue to grow as we both travel down life’s path together.
Mentoring gives us the opportunity to revisit where we began, build stronger marriages, and encouraging each other. Remembering that we work better together than we do apart or how can we communicate better, mentoring can be a wonderful experience, for both couples and mentors, as they learn from each other. Take the time to invest more into your marriage, your love and your commitment to each other.
About Alex and Lisa
Over the past 12 years, we have worked at our relationship, never losing sight of what brought us together, encouraging one another in all that we do, with understanding and a willingness to work together rather than apart. It is because of our experiences we would like to share them with others, so like us, they can build stronger relationships with each other.
We received our mentoring certification from the Marriage Mentoring Academy – Dr’s Les + Leslie Parrott in 2015. From that time, we have mentored more than fifty couples as they began their journey together, as well as couples who found their journeys needed some support and encouragement.
